Treasurer Torsella’s Keystone Scholars Program Signed into Law by Governor Wolf

Harrisburg, PA – Treasurer Joe Torsella today praised Governor Tom Wolf’s signing into law of the Keystone Scholars program passed by the General Assembly as part of the FY 2018-19 budget legislation package. Keystone Scholars establishes a $100 scholarship grant account at birth for every newborn who is a PA resident or adopted by a Pennsylvania family to be invested for higher education.

Harrisburg, PA – Treasurer Torsella today commended the passage of the Keystone Scholars program by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, establishing a $100 scholarship grant at birth for every child born in Pennsylvania to be invested for higher education expenses. The grants serve as a catalyst to change expectations and set every child in Pennsylvania up for success by helping families save for college and career expenses as early as possible.

Treasurer Torsella Searching For Families of World War II Veterans

Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania Treasurer Joe Torsella today announced that he is seeking the rightful owners of World War II military medals that belong to Pennsylvania’s veterans and their families. The service awards have been in Treasury’s possession—some for many years—after being reported to the department as unclaimed property, in accordance with Pennsylvania law.
