Treasurer Stacy Garrity Announces Milestone in Campaign to Highlight Pennsylvania’s Manufacturers and Makers
Treasury celebrates 10 weeks of #MadeInPAMondays social media campaign
Harrisburg, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced today that ten Pennsylvania manufacturers and makers, representing ten counties across the Commonwealth, have participated in the #MadeInPAMondays social media campaign since the initiative began in May.
“Pennsylvania’s manufacturers are the backbone of our economy. My background is in manufacturing, so I know how important these companies are both to the local economy in their area and to the state’s economy as a whole. I’m excited to recognize some of the unique companies who contribute so much to our Commonwealth through this campaign.”

The #MadeInPAMondays campaign, which kicked off on Instagram (@PATreasury) May 3, aims to feature a different manufacturer or maker from each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties every Monday. Treasury celebrated its tenth week on Monday with a double feature — highlighting two manufacturers, Nitterhouse Masonry in Franklin County and ProtoCAM in Lehigh County.
Nitterhouse Masonry, founded in 1923, is a family owned, family operated company that offers a selection of high-quality masonry products to the Mid-Atlantic region.
“Nitterhouse was established in Franklin County because that is where the founder William L. Nitterhouse was from. He was a mason in the local area before starting to produce his own block.”
Laura Martin, a member of the 5th generation of the family to be involved in Nitterhouse Companies
ProtoCAM, located in Allentown, is a leading provider of 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and rapid prototyping services. The company was founded in 1994.
"ProtoCAM is proud to showcase the ProtoCAM Distinction while working alongside Treasurer Garrity for the #MadeInPAMondays initiative. We love educating our local community about 3D additive manufacturing and production, and we're so excited to share what we do!"
Ron Belknap, CEO and Founder of ProtoCam
Other manufacturers and makers featured to date include: Military Apparel Company in Cumberland County, Groff’s Candies in Lancaster County, Tröegs Independent Brewing in Dauphin County, Just Born Quality Confections in Northampton County, Odey's Gallery in Lehigh County, Patterson Farms in Tioga County, Pine Springs Pottery in Clarion County, Brookville Equipment Corporation in Jefferson County, and Farmer Fred’s Farm Market in Bradford County.
“We established our business here because this is where we call home. The business climate is very accepting of small business and the support we’ve received has been tremendous. Our location allows us easy access to major airports and shipping terminals that allow us to receive our raw materials and ship finished products quickly and easily.”
Eve Baum, owner of Military Apparel Company
“During the height of the Great Depression in 1932, my grandfather, Sam Born and his two brothers-in-law, Jack and Irv Shaffer, had been looking to expand Just Born’s operations, which were originally located in Brooklyn, NY to a larger space. They came across an empty factory where the Saturday Evening Post used to be printed and since then, the company has been proud to call Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, its home. We consider ourselves lucky to live and work in such an exciting and charming community that is full of history, culture, and the arts, and that has provided the very best people for our business.”
Ross Born, CEO of Just Born Quality Confections
“We are proud producers of a remarkable Pennsylvania natural resource. Patterson Farms is deeply rooted in Pennsylvania. Current operations are being led by the fourth generation of Pattersons and the fifth generation is working alongside. We are Pennsylvania strong.”
Terry and Terri Patterson, owners and 4th generation farmers of Patterson Farms
“I love the people, landscapes and history of Pennsylvania. My home has been here since I was a teenager so it was only natural to start my business here too. I also love connecting with my customers, whether they are local to the area or are enjoying a getaway, and creating something with my hands that will be put to use in their hands and homes.”
Marie Lewis, owner of Pine Springs Pottery
An interactive map to highlight the amazing work being done by Pennsylvania manufacturers and makers by county can now be found on Treasury’s website and will be updated weekly.
