Harrisburg, PA — Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced the deposit of $2.1 billion into Pennsylvania’s Rainy Day Fund, formally known as the Budget Stabilization Reserve Fund. The transfer, which was officially made yesterday, was authorized as part of the state budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

Bethlehem, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity and area legislators today visited Northampton Community College (NCC) to promote Treasury’s PA 529 College and Career Savings Program. They were joined by College President Dr. David Ruth and Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Dr. Sedgwick Harris among other college faculty and administrators for a tour of the campus. The tour included the Lineworker Training facility in Hartzell Technology Hall. Treasurer Garrity also spoke with two students who utilize their PA 529 accounts to help fund their education at NCC.

They were greeted by College President Dr. Ann Bieber, Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Cindy Haney, Vice President of Academic Services and Student Development Larissa Verta and Executive Director of College Relations Linda Baker. Numerous administrators and faculty helped guide a tour of the campus which included visits to the Student Services Center, Nursing Suite, Makerspace, Amazon Training Center, Berrier Hall, the Community Services Center and the Library.
