Treasurer Garrity Announces $2.1 Billion Transfer to Rainy Day Fund

Pennsylvania now has nearly $5 billion in reserves to protect taxpayers in economic downturn


Harrisburg, PA — Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced the deposit of $2.1 billion into Pennsylvania’s Rainy Day Fund, formally known as the Budget Stabilization Reserve Fund. The transfer, which was officially made yesterday, was authorized as part of the state budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

SCOTUS-appointed Special Master ruled last year that hundreds of millions of dollars held by Delaware should be returned to PA and other states


Harrisburg, PA — The U. S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on Monday, October 3, in a dispute first filed in 2016 by Pennsylvania against Delaware involving unclaimed property. Following Pennsylvania’s lead, 29 other states later joined the suit.

Treasurer Garrity, DCED Acting Secretary Weaver Announce $490 Million in ARPA Payments Sent to Pennsylvania Municipalities

More than 2,400 municipalities receiving Round 2 ARPA payments today


Harrisburg, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Acting Secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development Neil Weaver today announced that the final payments under the American Rescue Plan Act’s (ARPA) Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery program, totaling more than $490 million, have been sent to qualifying Pennsylvania municipalities.

Treasurer Garrity encourages more families to save with PA 529 Program


Bethlehem, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity and area legislators today visited Northampton Community College (NCC) to promote Treasury’s PA 529 College and Career Savings Program. They were joined by College President Dr. David Ruth and Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Dr. Sedgwick Harris among other college faculty and administrators for a tour of the campus. The tour included the Lineworker Training facility in Hartzell Technology Hall. Treasurer Garrity also spoke with two students who utilize their PA 529 accounts to help fund their education at NCC.

Schnecksville, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity and area legislators today visited Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) to promote Treasury’s PA 529 College and Career Savings Program. They were greeted by College President Dr. Ann Bieber, Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Cindy Haney, Vice President of Academic Services and Student Development Larissa Verta and Executive Director of College Relations Linda Baker. Numerous administrators and faculty helped guide a tour of the campus which included visits to the Student Services Center, Nursing Suite, Makerspace, Amazon Training Center, Berrier Hall, the Community Services Center and the Library.
