Treasurer Stacy Garrity Returns More than $94,000 in Unclaimed Property to the City of Harrisburg During City Hall Ceremony
Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity today returned more than $94,000 in unclaimed property to the City of Harrisburg during a check presentation ceremony at City Hall.

I am grateful for the collaborative efforts and dedication of local leaders, which have enabled us to return more than $94,000 to Harrisburg.”

Treasurer Garrity presented a check for $94,775.44 during the ceremony, which was attended by Harrisburg City Council Vice President, Lamont Jones, and members of the Harrisburg City Clerk’s office. Council Vice President Jones accepted the check on behalf of the city.

Since taking office in 2021, Treasurer Garrity has returned more than $1 billion in unclaimed property, including a record of over $334 million last year.
Treasury is working to return more than $5 billion in unclaimed property to its rightful owners, including over $41 million available to Harrisburg residents. More than one in ten Pennsylvanians is owed unclaimed property, with the average claim worth over $1,000.
Unclaimed property can include intangible items like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks and forgotten stocks, and tangible items, such as collectible coins, jewelry and savings bonds, that most often come to Treasury as the contents of safe deposit boxes.
