Treasurer Stacy Garrity: $33,000 in Awards Available During Treasury’s 529 Day Promotion

Six regional awards of $5,529 – enough to cover a year’s tuition at a PA community college

Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity is encouraging families to save for education with this year’s 529 Day promotion. Families who save with the PA 529 College and Career Savings Program during the month of May could be eligible to win one of six regional awards – a $5,529 deposit into the associated PA 529 account. The promotion period starts tomorrow, May 1, and ends May 31, 2026.

$586,000 invested for children of Pittsburgh Firefighters

Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity today celebrated a big investment in the future of Pittsburgh-area children by The BlackRock Foundation. The BlackRock Foundation collaborated with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department’s PA 529 College and Career Savings Program (PA 529) to invest $586,000 for the education savings of 586 children of Pittsburgh Firefighters.

Treasurer Stacy Garrity: Nearly $38,000 in Unclaimed Property Donated to Nonprofit Organizations

Donated property was reported to Treasury with no known owners

Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity was joined by nonprofit leaders today in Treasury’s vault to announce that nearly $38,000 in unclaimed property gift cards and items including electronics, tools and children’s toys are being donated to Caring Cupboard, Casey’s Clubhouse, Duffield Veterans Village, Home Nursing Agency Foundation and Veterans Multi-Service Center.
